Finding your way around the app
On this page
The bottom bar takes you between the main places. The icons at the top open your bag, messages, notifications and your account. Your settings are on the Account screen, which you open with Menu.
What is in the bottom bar?
From left to right, the bar has Preloved, Shops, a button in the middle, Services and Feed.
- Preloved has pre-loved items from Bestie profiles.
- Shops has new items from Boutique profiles.
- Services has beauty and wellness shops near you.
- Feed has posts from creators.
You can also swipe left and right between the four places.
The middle button changes with your profile. It reads Sell for a Bestie or a Boutique, Post for a Creator, and POS for a Service Provider.
On a computer at xobestie.com, the same places are tabs at the top of the page, with the Sell, Post or POS button on the right.
What are the icons at the top?
Menu opens the Account screen, where your settings are.
Notifications opens your notifications.
Your bag opens your bag.
Messages opens your messages.
Map is on the Services place only. It opens the map of shops.
What do the numbers on the icons mean?
- The bell counts your unread notifications plus jobs that need your attention, like an order to ship. Doing the job clears it.
- The bag counts units. Two of the same dress count as 2.
- The paper plane counts conversations with something unread, not single messages.
A number above nine shows as 9+.
How do I open my settings?
In the appMenuGlobal Settings- Tap Menu.
- Tap the first tab, for example Bestie Settings, or tap Global Settings.
- Tap a row to open it.
The first tab holds the settings for the profile you are using. Settings for your whole account are in Global Settings. See What are Global Settings vs Profile Settings?.
To change profiles, tap Switch Role under your name. See Switching profiles and adding a new one.
Sign Out is at the bottom of the list, on either tab.
How do I go back?
Every screen you open from Account has a back arrow at the top left.
What can I do without an account?
You can look around Preloved, Shops and Services without signing in. Some things need an account, like saving an item with the heart or following a shop. The app opens the sign-in card when you tap one. After you sign in, the app takes you back and does what you tapped.
Other screens show You’re not signed in and a Sign in button. These are Account, your bag, Messages and Notifications. The Feed shows Sign in to see your feed.
To create an account, see Creating your account.
