Messages: chatting with sellers, shops and customers

Tap Messages at the top right of the app to see your chats. All your profiles share this one inbox.

Where do I find my messages?

1. Tap Messages at the top right.
2. Tap a chat to open it.

Your newest chats are at the top. Tap Load more at the bottom to see older ones.

What does the number on the paper plane mean?

It shows how many chats have messages you have not read.

How will I know I have a new message?

A number shows on the paper plane at the top of the app.

I have more than one profile. Which messages do I see?

All of them, in one list. You do not need to switch profiles. When you reply, the message goes out as the profile the chat belongs to.

Who can I message?

Anyone with an XO Bestie profile, except your own profiles. You do not need to follow them or buy from them first.

Tap Message on a profile or a shop page. You can also send a message from a booking, an appointment or a return. To message a seller about an item or an order, see Contacting a seller.

Why can’t I see the chat I just opened?

A chat only shows in your list once someone has sent a message in it.

How do I send a message?

1. Open the chat.
2. Type in the box that says Message.
3. Tap the paper plane to send.

What do the ticks under my message mean?

• One tick: XO Bestie has your message.
• Two pale ticks: it reached their phone.
• Two tan ticks: they read it.

When the other person is typing, you see three moving dots.

What if my message did not send?

Tap the message to try again. If it says Blocked, it broke a chat rule. See Why was my message blocked?.

Can I send photos or delete a message?

No. Chats are for text only, and a message stays once it is sent.
