Avoiding fraud and scams

Keep every sale and every payment inside XO Bestie. A deal made outside the app is not protected by XO Bestie.
Why should I keep payments inside the app?
A buyer or seller may ask you to pay or get paid another way, often to skip fees. Do not agree. Once the deal leaves XO Bestie, we cannot help if the money or the item never arrives.
The app helps you with this:
- Every chat shows Keep it on XO Bestie at the top.
- Chats block messages that share contact details or try to take a sale or a payment off the app. See Why was my message blocked?.
- A listing, post or profile that asks people to pay outside the app can be sent to our team to review.
Will XO Bestie ever ask for my personal information?
No. Nobody from XO Bestie will ever ask you for personal or financial information. Do not reply to anyone who does.
How do I know a message is really from XO Bestie?
- Our emails with codes and alerts come from notifications@xobestie.com.
- Support replies come from the support address, support@xobestie.com. In the app, replies show as XO Bestie Support.
- Do not trust an email from any other address that says it is from support.
What should I never share?
- Your password
- Sign-in codes (see Sign-in codes and two-factor)
- Your card or bank details
XO Bestie will not ask you for these.
What fees does XO Bestie charge?
XO Bestie takes its fees out of what a seller earns from a sale. See XO Bestie platform fee.
If someone asks you to pay a fee to list an item, unlock a payment or get paid, it is a scam. Do not pay it.
What should I do if something looks wrong?
- Do not send money or share any codes.
- If it is a listing or a post, report it. See Reporting a listing or a post.
- Tell Support about the person, a shop or a message. You cannot report those in the app. Include the @handle. See Contacting XO Bestie Support.
- If you shared your password or a code, change your password. Changing it signs you out on every device. See Changing your password.
