To get paid, you set up a payout account in your Wallet. You add your bank details and confirm who you are with Stripe, our payment partner. Until this is done, your sales are held.

In the appMenuGlobal SettingsWalletGetting paidHow you get paid

How do I set it up?

  1. Tap Menu.
  2. Tap Global Settings.
  3. Tap Wallet.
  4. Stay on the Getting paid tab. Scroll to How you get paid.
  5. Choose An individual or A business.
  6. Tap Set how you get paid.
  7. Follow the steps on the Stripe page that opens.

You can also start from Before you can sell, where one of the steps is Set how you get paid. See Before you can sell.

Should I choose An individual or A business?

  • An individual: a casual seller or a solo entrepreneur.
  • A business: a registered company with its own legal name.

Choose carefully. Once your payout account is set up, you cannot change this. The button stays grey until you choose one.

What will Stripe ask me for?

Your bank account, and details to confirm who you are, such as your name, date of birth, home address and the last 4 digits of your Social Security number. A business is also asked for its name and tax ID. You are only asked for what is needed.

How do I change my bank?

  1. Open Wallet and stay on Getting paid.
  2. Under How you get paid, tap Change.
  3. Update your details in the Stripe screen.

What does Start over do?

Start over deletes the payout account you began, so you can begin again. It only shows while your setup is not finished, and not while there is money in the account.

Do I need a separate payout account for each profile?

No. You have one payout account for your whole account. Every profile you hold uses it. Changing it changes it for all of them.

Why are my sales held?

Sales are held until your payout account is ready. Once it is ready, held sales are paid when they are due. See When you get paid.

Do I need this to buy?

No. Buying only needs a saved card. See Paying with a card.

Is this where I set up a card reader?

No. Card readers are not set up in the Wallet. A Service Provider sets one up under Shop Settings. Finish your payout account first. See Setting up a card reader.

Where do I see my money?

See Your Wallet explained.
