A promotion takes a percent off your whole shop, or off items you choose. It starts as soon as you create it and runs for the number of days you set. Shoppers see the reduced price and a sale badge. You can end it early, but you cannot change it once it has started.

How do I start a promotion?

In the appMenuBestie SettingsDiscounts and PromotionsAdd your first promotion
  1. Tap Menu.
  2. Open your settings tab: Bestie Settings, Boutique Settings, Creator Settings or Shop Settings for a Service Provider.
  3. Tap Discounts and Promotions.
  4. Tap + Add your first promotion. If you already have one, it says + Add a new promotion.
  5. Under Name, only you see this, type a name. It can be up to 40 characters. Shoppers never see it.
  6. Under How much off?, type the percent in the field Maximum allowed 70%.
  7. Under How long does it run?, type the number of days in the field Maximum allowed 60 days.
  8. Under What does it cover?, choose Your whole shop or Only the items I choose.
  9. Tap Start promotion. If you chose Only the items I choose, the button says Choose items.

If you chose items, tick the ones you want and tap Start promotion. The button shows how many you picked, such as Start on 3 items. Tap Discard at any point to leave without starting.

What are the limits?

  • The percent off can be from 1 to 70.
  • A promotion can run from 1 to 60 days.
  • The name can be up to 40 characters.
  • To choose items, you need at least one published listing or service.

What does Your whole shop cover?

Your whole shop covers everything you have listed, including anything you list while it runs. You can run one whole-shop promotion at a time. If one is already running, the screen tells you when it ends and says to end it first or choose specific items.

Why are some items left out?

An item that would lose money at that discount is left out. The fees and the shipping label come out of the reduced price, so some items have a lower limit. The item is not discounted less. It is skipped.

  • On the promotion, a red line shows how many items are left out, such as “2 items excluded · See which”.
  • Tap See which to see the items that cannot take that much off.
  • If you raise the item’s price enough, it joins the promotion by itself. You do not need to start the promotion again.

While you pick items, the same note shows next to each item that has a lower limit.

Can I end a promotion early?

Yes. On Discounts and Promotions, find it under Running now and tap End. It moves to Recently ended. Prices go back to normal.

Each promotion shows the percent off, your name for it, what it covers and when it ends.

Can I change a promotion after it starts?

No. You cannot change the percent, the days or what it covers. To change it, end it and start a new one.

What do shoppers see?

Shoppers see the reduced price and a sale badge. This shows wherever your items appear, including the shop page and the listing page. The discount applies at checkout. Orders already placed keep the price the customer paid.

If an item is in two promotions, the shopper gets the bigger discount. They do not add together.

If you lower an item’s price yourself, shoppers also see the old price next to the new one. That is not a promotion, so it does not show on Discounts and Promotions.

Does it cover services?

Yes. If you are a Service Provider, you can include your services as well as your products. The list shows how many services a promotion covers.
